Second life first try

I have been ignoring Second life phenomenon for some time now. But I decided to finally dive in into it.

Here are some of my thoughts.

First of all, one of the strangest things during the registration process, is that you specify the first name, and the registration wizard will give you last name automatically.



Now except that the registration process is quite easy. After you have verified your e-mail address, you can download a client or viewer, to start using second life.

When you start first time, you are teleported to the beginners island. There you are presented with a series of tutorials, that explain how you should navigate, interact with the world.

One interesting thing, that I noticed - there was a live broadcast from Blender community. Basically a video is displayed inside a virtual world, streaming live broadcast from a real-world session. Quite impressive actually !




There are all kind of shops, you can buy almost anything, here is one example where you can buy, shoes (virtual I guess). They all are user made, and it is possible to make something like this yourself.




Every person you see here is a living being, you can check their profile. To see their real life and virtual profile information.





There is however much more to research, because the world is so big, i have explored only a small portion. But for now I think this is too much information, so I am going to leave it here.
